    38.1

    صٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ذِى ٱلذِّكْرِ

    Saaad; wal-Qur-aani ziz zikr

    sad by the quran full of reminding.

     

    sad us naamwar quran ki qasam.

    38.2

    بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ

    Balil lazeena kafaroo fee 'izzatilnw wa shiqaaq

    Nay, those who disbelieve are in false pride and opposition

    balke kafir takabbur aur khilaaf me hain.

    38.3

    كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِ‍‍هِم مِّن قَرْنٍ

    فَ‍‍نَادَوا۟ وَّلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ

    Kam ahlaknaa min qablihim min qarnin

    fanaadaw wa lata  heena manaas

    How many a generation We have destroyed before them,
    and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape!

    ham ne un se pehle kitni sangaten khpayen
    to ab woh pukaaren aur chootne ka waqt na tha.

    38.4

    وَعَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْ‍‍هُمْ ۖ

    وَقَالَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا سَٰحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ

    Wa 'ajibooo an jaaa'a hum munzirum minhum

    wa qaalal kaafiroona haazaa saahirun kazzaab

    And they wondered that a Warner has come to them from among themselves!
    And said the disbelievers "This is a sorcerer, a liar!”

    aur unhen us ka achanbha hua ke un ke paas unhen me ka ek dar sunane wala tashreef laya
    aur kafir bole yeh jadugar hai barha jhoota.

    38.5

    أَجَعَلَ ٱلْءَالِهَةَ إِلَٰهًا وَٰحِدًا ۖ

    إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ عُجَابٌ

    Aja'alal aalihata Ilaahanw Waahidan

    inna haazaa lashai'un 'ujaab

    "Has he made all gods into god one?
    Verily this is a thing a curious!

    kya us ne bahut khudaon ka ek khuda kar diya
    beshak yeh ajeeb baat hai.

    38.6

    وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِنْ‍‍هُمْ

    أَنِ ٱمْشُوا۟ وَٱصْبِرُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمْ ۖ

    إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ يُرَادُ

    Wantalaqal mala-u minhum

    anim shoo wasbiroo 'alaaa aalihatikum

    innna haazaa lashai 'uny yuraad

    and the leaders among them went about
    that go on and remain constant to your gods.
    Verily this is a thing designed.

    aur un me ke sardar chale
    ke us ke paas se chal do aur apne khudaon par sabir raho
    beshak us me us ka koi matlab hai.

    38.7

     مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِى ٱلْمِلَّةِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ

    إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا ٱخْتِلَٰقٌ

    Maa sami'naa bihaazaa fil millatil aakhirati

    in haazaaa illakh tilaaq

    we have not heard the like of this among the religion of later days.
    this is nothing but an invention.


    ( 7 ) yeh to ham ne sab se pahle deen nasraniyat me bhi na suni yeh to nari nai garhat hai.

    38.8

     ءُأَنزِلَ عَلَيْ‍‍هِ ٱلذِّكْرُ مِنۢ  بَيْنِنَا  ۚ

    بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِى ۖ

    بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِ

    'A-unzila 'alaihiz zikru mim baininaa;

    bal hum fee shakkim min Zikree

    bal lammaa yazooqoo 'azaab

    has the reminder been sent down to him from among us?
    Nay but they are in doubt about my reminder.
    Nay but! Not they have tasted my torment.

    kya un par quran utaara gaya ham sab me se
    balke woh shak me hain meri kitaab se
    balke abhi meri maar nahi chakhi hai.

    38.9

    أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْوَهَّابِ

    Am'indahum khazaaa 'inu rahmati Rabbikal 'Azeezil Wahhab

    or have they the treasures of your Raub the all-might the real bestow-er?


    ( 9 ) kya woh tumahre rab ki rahmat ke khazanchi hain woh izzat wala bahut ataa farmane wala hai.

    38.10

    أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ

    فَ‍‍لْيَرْتَقُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَسْبَٰبِ

    Am lahum mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa

    falyartaqoo fil asbaab

    or for them the domain of the heavens and the earth and what is between them?
    if so let them ascend up with means.

    kya un ke liye hai saltanat asmano aur zameen ki aur jo kuch un ke darmiyan hai,
    to rasiyaan latka kar charh na jayen.

    38.11

     جُندٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ

    Jundum maa hunaalika mahzoomum minal Ahzaab

    they are there defeated host like, of the confederates.

    yeh ek zaleel lashkar hai unhen lashkaron me se jo wahein bhaga diya jaye ga.

    38.12

    كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَ‍‍هُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو ٱلْأَوْتَادِ

    Kazzabat qablahum qawmu nootinw-wa 'Aadunw wa Fir'awnu zul awtaad

    before them denied the people of Noah and Aad and pharaoh the owner of stakes.

    un se pahle jhutla chuke hain Nooh ki qaum aur Aad aur chu mikha karne walay firaon.

    38.13

     وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ۚ

    أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ

    Wa Samoodu wa qawmu Lootinw wa Ashaabul 'Aykah;

    ulaaa'ikal Ahzaab

    and Thamud and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wood.
    Such were the confederates.

    aur samood aur Loot ki qoum aur ban walay
    yeh hain woh giroh.

    38.14

    إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَ‍‍حَقَّ عِقَابِ

    In kullun illaa kazzabar Rusula fahaqqa 'iqaab

    not each of them but denied the Prophets . Therefore my torment was justified.

    un me koi aisa nahi jis ne rasoolon ko na jhutlaya ho to mera azaab lazim hua.

    38.15

    وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً

    مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ

    Wa maa yanzuru haaa ulaaa'i illaa saihatanw waahidatam

    maa lahaa min fawaaq

    and not wait these only a single shout.
    It has not of pause of ending.

    aur yeh raah nahi dekhte magar ek cheekh ki
    jise koi pher nahi sakta.

    38.16

    وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّ‍‍نَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ

    Wa qaaloo Rabbanaa 'ajjil lanaa qittanaa qabla Yawmil Hisaab

    and they say: “Our Raub hasten to us our account before the day of reckoning”.

    aur bole ae hamare rab hamara hissa hame jald de de hisaab ke din se pahle.

    38.17

    ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ

    وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُۥدَ ذَا ٱلْأَيْدِ ۖ

    إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

    Isbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona

    wazkur 'abdanaa Daawooda zal aidi

    innahooo awwaab

    Be patient on what they say
    and remember our slave David endused with power.
    Verily he was ever the evening and after sunrise.

    tum un ki baton par sabr karo
    aur hamare bande dawood nematon wale ko yaad karo
    beshak woh bara rujoo karne wala hai.

    38.18

    إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا ٱلْجِبَالَ مَعَ‍‍هُۥ

    يُسَبِّحْنَ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِ

    Innaa sakhkharnal jibaala ma'aho

    yusabbihna bil'ashaiyi wal ishraaq

    verily we have made the mountains with him
    glorify our praise in the evening and after sunrise.

    beshak ham ne us ke sath paharh moskher farma diye
    ke tasbeeh karte shaam ko aur Sooraj chamakate.

    38.19

    وَٱلطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً ۖ

    كُلٌّ لَّ‍‍هُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

    Wattayra mahshoorah;

    kullul lahooo awwaab

    and the birds assembled
    all with him did turn.

    aur parinde jama kiye howe
    sab us ke farmanbardar the.

    38.20

    وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُۥ

    وَءَاتَيْنَٰ‍‍هُ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ ٱلْخِطَابِ

    Wa shadadnaa mulkahoo

    wa aatainaahul Hikmata wa faslal khitaab

    and we made his kingdom strong
    and gave him wisdom and sound judgement in speech decision.

    aur ham ne us ki saltanat ko mazboot kya
    aur use hikmat aur qoul Faisal diya.

    38.21

    وَهَلْ أَتَىٰكَ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَصْمِ

    إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا۟ ٱلْمِحْرَابَ

    Wa hal ataaka naba'ul khasm;

    iz tasawwarul mihraab

    and has the news of the litgants reached you?
    when they climbed over the chamber.

    aur kya tumhe is daaway walon ki bhi khabar aayi
    jab woh deewar kood kar dawod ki masjid me aaye.

    38.22

    إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ دَاوُۥدَ فَ‍‍فَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ

    قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ

    خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ

    فَ‍‍ٱحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِ‍ٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ

    وَٱهْدِنَآ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ

    Iz dakhaloo 'alaa Daawooda fafazi'a minhum

    qaaloo la takhaf

    khasmaani baghaa ba'dunaa 'alaa ba'din

    fahkum bainanaaa bilhaqqi wa laa tushtit

    wahdinaaa ilaa Sawaaa'is Siraat

    when they entered in upon David and he was terrified of them.
    they said “not fear!”
    two litigants whom has wronged one of us on the other
    therefore judge between us with truth and not be unjust
    and guide us to the right way.

    jab woh dawood par daakhil howe to woh un se ghabra gaya
    unhon ne arz ki darye nahi
    ham do fareeq hain ke ek ne dusre par ziyadati ki hai
    to ham me sacha faisla farma dijiye aur khilafِ e haq na kijiye
    aur hame seedhi raah btaiye.

    38.23

    إِنَّ هَٰذَآ أَخِى

    لَهُۥ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً

    وَلِىَ نَعْجَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ

    فَ‍‍قَالَ أَكْفِلْ‍نِي‍‍هَا

    وَعَزَّنِى فِى ٱلْخِطَابِ

    Inna haazaaa akhee

    lahoo tis'unw wa tis'oona na'jatanw

    wa liya na'jatunw waahidah;

    faqaala akfilneeha

    wa 'azzanee filkhitaab

    verily this, is my brother
    he has ninety-nine ewe female sheep
    while I have one ewe
    and he said “hand it over me”
    and he overpowered me in speech.

    beshak yeh mera bhai hai
    us ke paas ninanwe dunbiyan hain
    aur mere paas ek dunbi
    ab yeh kahta hai woh bhi mujhe hawale kar de
    aur baat me mujh par zor dalta hai.

    38.24

    قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَ‍‍كَ

    بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِ‍‍كَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِ‍‍هِۦ ۖ

    وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْخُلَطَآءِ

    لَيَبْغِى بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ

    إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ

    وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ ۗ

    وَظَنَّ دَاوُۥدُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّٰ‍‍هُ

    فَ‍ٱسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُۥ

    وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ ۩

    Qaala laqad zalamaka

    bisu 'aali na'jatika ilaa ni'aajihee

    wa inna kaseeram minal khulataaa'i

    la-yabghee ba'duhum 'alaa ba'din

    illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati

    wa qaleehum maa hum;

    wa zanna Daawoodu annamaa fatannaahu

    fastaghrara Rabbahoo

    wa kharra raaki'anw wa anaab

    David said he indeed he has wroned you
    in demanding your ewe to his ewes
    and verily many of partners
    oppress one on another
    except those who believe and do righteous deeds
    and they are few
    and David guessed that we have tried him
    and he sought forgiveness of his Raub, 
    and fell down prostrate and turned in repentance.

    dawood ne farmaya beshak yeh tujh par ziyadati karta hai
    ke teri dunbi apni dunbiyon me milaane ko mangta hai,
    aur beshak aksar saajhe wale
    ek dusre par ziyadati karte hain
    magar jo imaan laaye aur achche kaam kiye
    aur woh bahut thorhe hain 
    ab Dawood samjha ke ham ne yeh us ki jaanch ki thi
    to apne rab se mafi mangi
    aur sjday me gir parha aur rujoo laya,

    38.25

    فَ‍‍غَفَرْنَا لَهُۥ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ

    وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍ

    Faghafarnaa lahoo zaalik;

    wa inna lahoo 'indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma aab

    so we forgave him that
    and verily for him is to us and a good return.

    to ham ne use yeh maaf farmaya,
    aur beshak us ke liye hamari bargaah me zaroor qurb aur acha thikana hai.

    38.26

    يَٰ‍دَاوُۥدُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰ‍‍كَ خَلِيفَةً فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ

    فَ‍‍ٱحْكُم بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِ‍‍ٱلْحَقِّ

    وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ

    فَ‍يُضِلَّ‍‍كَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

    لَ‍‍هُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌۢ بِمَا نَسُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْحِسَابِ

    Yaa Daawoodu innaa ja'alnaaka khaleefatan fil ardi

    fahkum bainan naasi bilhaqqi

    wa laa tattabi'il hawaa

    fayudillaka 'an sabeelil laah;

    innal lazeena yadilloona 'an sabeelil laah;

    lahum 'azaabun shadeedum bimaa nasoo Yawmal Hisaab

    O David! Verily we have placed you a successor on earth
    so judge you between men in truth
    and follow not your desire
    for it will mislead you from the way of Allah.
    Verily those who wander astray from Allah’s way
    for them a severe torment because they forgot the day of reckoning.

    ae Dawood beshak ham ne tujhe zameen me naib kya
    to logon me sacha hukum kar
    aur khwahish ke peeche na jana
    ke tujhe Allah ki raah se bahka de gi,
    beshak woh jo Allah ki raah se bahekte hain
    un ke liye sakht azaab hai us par ke woh hisaab ke din ko bhool baithe.

    38.27

    وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَٰطِلًا ۚ

    ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ

    فَ‍‍وَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ

    Wa ma khalaqnas samaaa'a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa baatilaa;

    zaalika zannul lazeena kafaroo;

    fawai lul lillazeena kafaroo minan Naar

    and not we created the heaven and the earth and all that in between them without purpose
    that is the consideration of those who disbelieve
    then woe to those who disbelieve from the fire!

    aur ham ne aasman aur zameen aur jo kuch un ke darmiyan hai bekar na banaye,
    yeh kafiron ka gumaan hai
    to kafiron ki kharabi hai aag se.

    38.28

    أَمْ نَجْعَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ

    كَ‍‍ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ

    أَمْ نَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ كَ‍‍ٱلْفُجَّارِ

    Am naj'alul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati

    kalmufisdeena fil ardi

    am naj'alul muttaqeena kalfujjaar

    or shall we treat make those who believe and do righteous deeds
    as those who are corrupters on earth? 
    or shall we treat the righteous persons as criminals?

    kya ham jo imaan laaye aur achche kaam kiye unhen kar den 
    un jaisa jo zameen me fasaad phailate hain,
    ya ham parhaiz garon ko shareer be hukmon ke barabar thehra den.

    38.29

    كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰ‍‍هُ إِلَيْ‍كَ مُبَٰرَكٌ

    لِّ‍يَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ

    وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

    Kitaabun anzalnaahu ilaika mubaarakul

    liyaddabbarooo Aayaatihee

    wa liyatazakkara ulul albaab

    this is a scripture which we have sent down to you full of blessings
    that they may ponder over its auyat
    and men of understanding may remember.

    yeh ek kitaab hai ke ham ne tumhari taraf utari barket wali
    taake us ki ayaton ko sochen
    aur aqalmand naseehat manen.

    38.30

    وَوَهَبْنَا لِ‍دَاوُۥدَ سُلَيْمَٰنَ ۚ

    نِعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ

    إِنَّ‍‍هُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

    Wa wahabnaa li Daawooda Sulaimaan;

    ni'mal 'abd;

    innahoo awwaab

    and to David we have granted solomon,
    how excellent a slave!
    Verily he was ever oft-returning in repentace.

    aur ham ne Dawood ko Sulaiman ataa farmaya,
    kya acha bandah
    beshak woh bahut rujoo laane wala.

    38.31

    إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِ‍‍ٱلْعَشِىِّ ٱلصَّٰفِنَٰتُ ٱلْجِيَادُ

    Iz 'urida 'alaihi bil'ashiy yis saafinaatul jiyaad

    when there were displayed before him in the evening horses the well-trained of highest breed.

    jabke us par paish kiye gaye teesre pahar tezraftar umda ghorhe

    38.32

    فَ‍‍قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ ٱلْخَيْرِ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّى

    حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِٱلْحِجَابِ

    Faqaala inneee ahbabtu hubbal khairi 'an zikri Rabbee

    hattaa tawaarat bilhijaab

    and he said: “Alas Verily I did love love of the good instead of remembering my Raub”
    till the time was over and the sun had hidden in the veil of night.

    to Sulaiman ne kaha mujhe un ghorhon ki mohabbat pasand aayi hai apne rab ki yaad ke liye
    phir unhen chalane ka hukum diya yahan tak ke nigah se parde me chup gaye.

    38.33

    رُدُّوهَا عَلَىَّ ۖ

    فَ‍‍طَفِقَ مَسْحًۢا بِ‍‍ٱلسُّوقِ وَٱلْأَعْنَاقِ

    Ruddoohaa 'alaiya

    fatafiqa masham bissooqi wal a'naaq

    “bring them horses back to me”
    then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks.

    phir hukum diya ke unhen mere paas wapas lao
    to un ki pindliyon aur gardanon par haath phairne laga.

    38.34

    وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَٰنَ

    وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّ‍‍هِۦ جَسَدًا

    ثُمَّ أَنَابَ

    Wa laqad fatannaa Sulaimaana

    wa alqainaa 'alaa kursiyyihee jasadan

    summa anaab

    and indeed we did try Solomon
    and we placed on his throne a body
    then he did return.

    aur beshak ham ne Sulaiman ko jancha
    aur is ke takhat par ek be jaan badan daal diya
    phir rujoo laya.

    38.35

    قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى

    وَهَبْ لِى مُلْكًا

    لَّا يَنۢبَغِى لِأَحَدٍ مِّنۢ بَعْدِىٓ ۖ 

    إِنَّ‍‍كَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

    Qaala Rabbigh fir lee

    wa hab lee mulkal

    laa yambaghee li ahadim mim ba'dee 

    innaka Antal Wahhab

    he said: “My Raub forgive me
    and bestow upon me a kindom
    such as shall not belong to any other after me”.
    Verily you, are the bestower.

    arz ki ae mere rab mujhe bakhash de
    aur mujhe aisi saltanat ataa kar
    ke mere baad kisi ko Laiq na ho
    beshak to hi barhi deen wala.

    38.36

    فَ‍‍سَخَّرْنَا لَهُ ٱلرِّيحَ

    تَجْرِى بِ‍أَمْرِ‍هِۦ رُخَآءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ

    Fasakhkharnaa lahur reeha

    tajree bi amrihee rukhaaa'an haisu asaab

    so we subjected to him the wind.
    It blew gently by his order wherever he willed.

    to ham ne hawa us ke bas me kar di
    ke is ke hukum se naram naram chalti jahan woh chahta.

    38.37

    وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّآءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ

    Wash Shayaateena kulla bannaaa'inw wa ghawwaas

    and also the devils from the jinns, every kind of builder and diver, 

    aur deo bas me kar diye har memaar aur ghota Khoor.

    38.38

    وَءَاخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِى ٱلْأَصْفَادِ

    Wa aakhareena muqarraneena fil asfaad

     and also others bound fetters.

    aur dusre aur bediyon me jakre howe.

    38.39

    هَٰذَا عَطَآؤُنَا فَٱمْنُنْ

    أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

    Haazaa 'ataaa'unaa famnun

    aw amsik bighairi hisaab

    this is our gift so spend you
    or withold no account will be asked.

    yeh hamari ataa hai ab to chahe to ahsaan kar
    ya rok rakh tujh par kuch hisaab nahi.

    38.40

    وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍ

    Wa inna lahoo 'indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma-aab

     and verily for him with us a near access and good final return.

    aur beshak us ke liye hamari bargaah me zaroor qurb aur acha thikana hai.

    38.41

    وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَآ أَيُّوبَ

    إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ

    أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ

    Wazkur 'abdanaaa Ayyoob;

    iz naada Rabbahooo

    annee massaniyash Shaitaanu binus binw wa 'azaab

    and remember our slave Job
    when he invoked his Raub
    that verily has touched me satan with distress and torment.

    aur yaad karo hamare bande ayub
    ko jab us ne apne rab ko pokara
    ke mujhe shaitan ne takleef aur eeza laga di.

    38.42

    ٱرْكُضْ بِ‍‍رِجْلِكَ ۖ

    هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌۢ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ

    Urkud birijlika

    haaza mughtasalum baaridunw wa sharaab

    strike the ground with your foot!
    This is a spring of water to wash in cool and drink.

    ham ne farmaya zameen par apna paon maar
    yeh hai thanda chashma nahane aur peene ko.

    38.43

    وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ أَهْلَهُۥ

    وَمِثْلَ‍هُم مَّعَ‍هُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا

    وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

    Wa wahabnaa lahoo ahlahoo

    wa mislahum ma'ahum rahmatam minna

    wa zikraa li ulil albaab

    and we gave him his family
    and the thereof along with them mercy from us
    and a reminder for those who understand.

    aur ham ne ataa farmaye use is ke ghar wale
    aur un ke barabar aur diye apni rahmat karne
    aur aqalmandon ki naseehat ko.

    38.44

    وَخُذْ بِ‍‍يَدِكَ ضِغْثًا

    فَ‍‍ٱضْرِب بِّ‍‍هِۦ

    وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ

    إِنَّا وَجَدْنَٰ‍‍هُ صَابِرًا ۚ

    نِّعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ

    إِنَّ‍‍هُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

    Wa khuz biyadika dighsan

    fadrib bihee

    wa laa tahnas,

    innaa wajadnaahu saabiran;

    ni'mal 'abd;

    innahooo awwaab

     

    and take in your hand a bundle of branches
    and strike therewith
    and not break you oath.
    Verily we found him patient.
    How excellent a slave!
    Verily he was ever oft-returning in repentance.

    aur farmaya ke apne haath me ek jharhoo le kar
    us se maar de
    aur qasam na torh
    beshak ham ne use sabir paaya
    kya hi acha bandah
    beshak woh bahut rujoo laane wala hai.

    38.45

    وَٱذْكُرْ عِبَٰدَنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ

    أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَيْدِى وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

    Wazkur 'ibaadanaaa Ibraaheema wa Is-haaqa wa Ya'qooba

    ulil-aydee walabsaar

    and remember our slaves Abraham, and Isaaq and Jacob,
    all of strength and also of religious understanding.

    aur yaad karo hamare bandon ibrahim aur Ishaq aur Yaqoob
    qudrat aur ilm walon ko.

    38.46

    إِنَّآ أَخْلَصْنَٰهُم بِ‍خَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى ٱلدَّارِ

    Innaaa akhlasnaahum bi khaalisatin zikrad daar

    verily we did choose them by granting them a good thing the remembrance of the home.

    beshak ham ne unhen ek khari baat se imtiaz bakhsha ke woh us ghar ki yaad hai.

    38.47

    وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ

    Wa innahum 'indanaa laminal mustafainal akhyaar

    and they are with us verily of those chosen and the best.

    aur beshak woh hamare nazdeek chune howe pasandeeda hain.

    38.48

    وَٱذْكُرْ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖ

    وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ

    Wazkur Ismaa'eela wal Yasa'a wa Zal-Kifli

    wa kullum minal akhyaar

    and remember Ishmael, Elisah, and Dhul Kifl,
    and all are among the best.

    aur yaad karo ismael aur yassa aur zo al-kifl ko
    aur sab achche hain.

    38.49

    هَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ ۚ

    وَإِنَّ لِ‍‍لْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍ

    Haazaa zikr;

    wa inna lilmuttaqeena lahusna ma aab

    this is a reminder
    and verily for those pious people is a good final return.

    yeh naseehat hai
    aur beshak parhaiz garon ka omda thikana.

    38.50

    جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّ‍‍هُمُ ٱلْأَبْوَٰبُ

    Jannaati 'adnim mufat tahatal lahumul abwaab

    Gardens Aden everlasting whose doors which are open for them.

    basne ke baagh un ke liye sab darwaze khule howe.

    38.51

    مُتَّكِـِٔينَ فِي‍‍هَا

    يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَٰكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ

    Muttaki'eena feehaa

    yad'oona feehaa bifaakihatin kaseeratinw wa sharaab

    therein they will recline
    they will call therein for fruits in abundance and drinks.

    un me takiya lagaye
    un me bahut se mewe aur sharaab mangte hain.

    38.52

    وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ

    Wa 'indahum qaasiraatut tarfi atraab

    and with them will be chaste females restraining their glances equal in ages.

    aur un ke paas nichi nigah wali, ek Umar ki.

    38.53

    هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِ‍‍يَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ

    Haaza maa too'odoona li Yawmil Hisaab

    this is what you are promised for the day of reckoning.

     

    yeh hai woh jis ka tumhe wada diya jata hai hisaab ke din.

    38.54

    إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا

    مَا لَهُۥ مِن نَّفَادٍ

    Inna haazaa larizqunaa

    maa lahoo min nafaad

    verily this is our provision
    not for it any finish.

    beshak yeh hamara rizaq hai
    ke woh kabhi khatam na ho ga.

    38.55

     هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِ‍لطَّٰغِينَ لَ‍شَرَّ مَـَٔابٍ

    Haazaa; wa inna littaagheena lasharra ma-aab

    this is so; and verily for the transgresses will be an evil return.

    un ko to yeh hai aur beshak sarkashon ka bura thikana.

    38.56

    جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَ‍‍هَا

    فَ‍‍بِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ

    Jahannama yaslawnahaa

    fai'sal mihaad

    Hell! where they will burn
    and worst is that place to rest!

    jahannam ke us me jayen ge
    to kya hi bura bichauna.

    38.57

    هَٰذَا فَ‍لْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ

    Haazaa falyazooqoohu hameemunw wa ghassaaq

    this is so then let them taste it a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharge pus.

    un ko yeh hai to use chakhen khawalta pani aur peep.

    38.58

    وَءَاخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجٌ

    Wa aakharu min shak liheee azwaaj

    and other torment of similar kind all together in pairs.

    aur usi shakal ke aur jorhe.

    38.59

    هَٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَ‍كُ‍مْ ۖ

    لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِ‍‍هِمْ ۚ

    إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا۟ ٱلنَّارِ

    Haazaa fawjum muqtahimum ma'akum

    laa marhabam bihim;

    innahum saalun Naar

    this is a troop entering with you
    not welcome for them
    verily they shall burn in the fire.

    un se kaha jaye ga yeh ek aur fauj tumahre sath dhansi parhtee hai
    woh kahen ge un ko khuli jagah na milo
    aag me to un ko jana hi hai.

    38.60

    قَالُوا۟ بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِكُمْ ۖ

    أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ

    فَ‍بِئْسَ ٱلْقَرَارُ

    Qaaloo bal antum laa marhabam bikum;

    antum qaddamtumoohu lanaa

    fabi'sal qaraar

    they say: Nay! You too no welcome for you
    it is you who brought this upon us.
    So evil is the place to stay in!

    woh aane wale bole balke tumhe kholi jagah na milyo
    yeh museebat tum hamare age laaye
    to kya hi bura thikana.

    38.61

    قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا

    فَ‍زِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِى ٱلنَّارِ

    Qaaloo Rabbanaa man qaddama lanaa haaza

    fazidhu 'azaaban di'fan fin Naar

    they said: Our Raub! Whoever brought this upon us
    Add to him a double torment in the fire.

    woh bole ae hamare rab jo yeh museebat hamare age laya
    use aag me dona azaab barha.

    38.62

    وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَ‍‍نَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا

    كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ

    Wa qaaloo ma lanaa laa naraa rijaalan

    kunnaa na'udduhum minal ashraar

    and they said: what is the matter with us we not see men?
    We used to count them among the bad ones.

    aur bole hame kya howa ham un mardon ko nahi dekhte
    jinhen bura samajhte the.

    38.63

    أَتَّخَذْنَٰ‍‍هُمْ سِخْرِيًّا

    أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْ‍‍هُمُ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ

    Attakhaznaahum sikh riyyan

    am zaaghat 'anhumul absaar

    did we take them as an object of mockery
    or have our eyes failed to percieve them?

    kya ham ne unhen hansi bana liya
    ya ankhen un ki taraf se phir gayen.

    38.64

    إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَ‍‍حَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ ٱلنَّارِ

    Inna zaalika lahaqqun takhaasumu Ahlin Naar 

    verily that is the very truth the mutual dispute of the people of the fire.

    beshak yeh zaroor haq hai dozakhiyon ka baaham jhagra.

    38.65

     قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ مُنذِرٌ ۖ

    وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّارُ

    Qul innamaaa ana munzirunw

    wa maa min ilaahim illal laahul Waahidul Qahhaar

    say: only I am a Warner
    and there is not any God except Allah. The Unique The Suborder Dominating One.

    tum farmao may dar sunane wala hi hun
    aur mabood koi nahi magar ek Allah sab par ghalib.

    38.66

    رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا

    ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفَّٰرُ

    Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumal

    'Azeezul Ghaffaar

    The Raub of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them,
    the all-mighty The Very Forgiving One.

    maalik asmano aur zameen ka aur jo kuch un ke darmiyan hai
    sahib izzat barha bakhsne wala.

    38.67

    قُلْ هُوَ نَبَؤٌا۟ عَظِيمٌ

    Qul huwa naba'un 'azeem

    Say: “that is news The Incomparable Unparalleled One.

    tum farmao woh barhi khabar hai.

    38.68

     أَنتُمْ عَنْ‍‍هُ مُعْرِضُونَ

    Antum 'anhu mu'ridoon

    you from which you turn away.

     

    tum us se ghaflat me ho.

    38.69

     مَا كَانَ لِىَ مِنْ عِلْمٍۭ بِ‍‍ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓ

    إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ

    Maa kaana liya min 'ilmim bilmala il a'laaa

    iz yakhtasimoon

    I was not had any knowledge of the chiefs angels on high
    when they were disputing.

    mujhe aalam baala ki kya khabar thi
    jab woh jhagarte the.

    38.70

    إِن يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَ‍‍ىَّ

    إِلَّآ أَنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

    Iny-yoohaaa ilaiya

    illaaa annamaaa ana nazeerum mubeen

    not his has been inspired to me
    except that only I am a plain Warner.

    mujhe to yahi wahi hoti hai
    ke may nahi magar roshan dar sunane wala.

    38.71

     إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِ‍‍لْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ

    إِنِّى خَٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّن طِينٍ

    Iz qaala Rabbuka lilmalaaa'ikati

    innee khaaliqum basharam min teen

    when said your Raub to the angles:
    “verily I am going to create a man from clay”.

    jab tumahre rab ne farishton se farmaya
    ke may mitti se insaan banaun ga.

    38.72

    فَ‍إِذَا سَوَّيْتُ‍‍هُۥ

    وَنَفَخْتُ فِي‍‍هِ مِن رُّوحِى

    فَ‍‍قَعُوا۟ لَ‍‍هُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ

    Fa-iza sawwaituhoo

    wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee

    faqa'oo lahoo saajideen

    so when I have fashioned him
    and breathed into him from my soul
    then fall down to him prostrate to him.

    phir jab may use theek bana lon
    aur is me apni taraf ki rooh phonko
    to tum us ke liye sjday me girna.

    38.73

     فَ‍سَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّ‍‍هُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ

    Fasajadal malaaa'ikatu kulluhum ajma'oon

    So the angels prostrated all of them together.

    to sab farishton ne sajda kya ek ek ne ke koi baqi na raha.

    38.74

    إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ ٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

    Illaaa Iblees; istakbara wa kaana minal kaafireen

    except Iblis he was proud and was one of the disbelievers.

    magar iblees ke us ne ghuroor kya aur woh tha hi kafiroon me.

    38.75

    قَالَ يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ

    مَا مَنَعَ‍‍كَ أَن تَسْجُدَ

    لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِ‍‍يَدَىَّ ۖ

    أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْعَالِينَ

    Qaala yaaa Ibleesu

    maa man'aka an tasjuda

    limaa khalaqtu biyadai;

    Astakbarta am kunta min 'aaleen

    Allah said: O Iblis!
    What prevents you? from prostrating
    to one whom I have created with both my hands.
    Are you too proud? Or are you of the high exalted?

    farmaya ae iblees
    tujhe kis cheez ne roka ke to us ke liye sajda kere
    jise may ne apne hathon se banaya
    tujhe ghuroor agaya ya to tha hi maghrooron me.

    38.76

    قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ‍‍هُ ۖ

    خَلَقْتَ‍‍نِى مِن نَّارٍ

    وَخَلَقْتَ‍‍هُۥ ‍مِن طِينٍ

    Qaala ana khairum minah;

    khalaqtanee min naarinw

    wa khalaqtahoo min teen

    Iblis said: “ I am better than he”
    you created me from fire
    and you created him from clay.

    bola mai us se behtar hon
    to ne mujhe aag se banaya
    aur use mitti se paida kya.

    38.77

     قَالَ فَ‍ٱخْرُجْ مِنْ‍هَا فَإِنَّ‍‍كَ رَجِيمٌ

    Qaala fakhruj minhaa fainnaka rajeem

    Allah said: “Then get out! From here for verily you are outcast”.

    farmaya to jannat se nikal ja ke to randha ( laanat kya ) gaya.

    38.78

    وَإِنَّ عَلَيْ‍‍كَ لَعْنَتِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

    Wa inna 'alaika la'nateee ilaa Yawmid Deen

    and verily on you my curse till the day of recompense.

    aur beshak tujh par meri laanat hai qayamat ke din tak.

    38.79

    قَالَ رَبِّ فَ‍أَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

    Qaala Rabbi fa anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon

    Iblis said: “My Raub! Then give me respite till the day when people are resurrected”.

     

    bola ae mere rab aisa hai to mujhe mohlat de us din tak ke uthaye jayen.

    38.80

    قَالَ فَ‍إِنَّ‍‍كَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ

    Qaala fa innaka minal munzareen

    Allah said: “verily you are of those allowed respite”.

    farmaya to tu mohlat walon me hai.

    38.81

    إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ

    Ilaa Yawmil waqtil ma'loom

    till the day of the appointed time.

    us jane hue waqt ke din tak.

    38.82

    قَالَ فَ‍بِ‍عِزَّتِ‍‍كَ لَأُغْوِيَ‍نَّ‍‍هُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

    Qaala fabi'izzatika la ughwiyannahum ajma'een

    Iblis said: “By your might then I shall surely mislead them all”

    bola teri izzat ki qasam zaroor may un sab ko gumraah kar dun ga.

    38.83

    إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْ‍‍هُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

    Illaa 'ibaadaka minhumul mukhlaseen

    except you are the chosen slaves amongest them.

    magar jo un me tere chune howe bande hain.

    38.84

    قَالَ فَٱلْحَقُّ وَٱلْحَقَّ أَقُولُ

    Qaala falhaqq, walhaqqa aqool

    Allah said: then the truth and the truth I say.

    farmaya to sach yeh hai aur may sach hi farmata hun.

    38.85

    لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ

    وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

    La amla'anna Jahannama minka

    wa mimman tabi'aka minhum ajma'een

    that I shall fill hell with you
    and those how followed you of them all.

    beshak may zaroor jahannam bhar dunga tujh se
    aur un me se jitne teri pairwi karen ge sab se.

    38.86

    قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ

    وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ

    Qul maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrinw

    wa maaa ana minal mutakallifeen

    Say: Not wage I do ask of you for this.
    Nor I am one of the faker imposters.

    tum farmao may us quran par tum se kuch ajar nahi mangta
    aur may banawat walon se nahi.

    38.87

    إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّ‍لْعَٰلَمِينَ

    In huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen

    nothing it is but a reminder for all worlds.

    woh to nahi magar naseehat saare Jahan ke liye.

    38.88

    وَلَ‍تَعْلَمُ‍‍نَّ نَبَأَهُ بَعْدَ حِينٍۭ

    Wa lata'lamunna naba ahoo ba'da heen

    and you shall certainly know its news after a while.

    aur zaroor ek waqt ke baad tum us ki khabar jano ge.

    38.100

     وَيُنَجِّى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ بِمَفَازَتِهِمْ لَا يَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلسُّوٓءُ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

    Wa yunajjil laahul lazee nat taqaw bimafaazatihim laa yamassuhumus sooo'u wa laa hum uahzanoon

     

    and will deliver Allah those who are pious to their places of success. Evil shall touch them not. And they shall not grieve.

    38.101

    فَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَٰهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍۭ ۚ بَلْ هِىَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

    Fa izaa massal insaana durrun da'aanaa summa izaa khawwalnaahu ni'matam minna qaala innamaaa ootee tuhoo 'alaa 'ilm; bal hiya fitna tunw wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon

     

    so when harm touches man he calls to us then when we have granted him a favour grace from us. He say: “Only I was given this grace because of knowledge” Nay it is only a trial but most of them not know.

    38.103

    قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

    Salaamun 'alaa Noohin fil 'aalameen

     

    Iblis said: “My Raub! Then give me respite till the day when people are resurrected”.

    38.104

    إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ

    Innahoo min 'ibaadinal mu'mineen

     

    till the day of the appointed time.
